Know as much as 26 suppliers for the iPhone largest online retail store in China summoned to court on Wednesday. It is said that these suppliers have managed to smuggle iPad and iPhone illegally to China.
Estimated as many as 162,000 units of the iPhone and iPad that is worth nearly 500 million yuan, equivalent to $ 80 million has successfully entered China through illegal channels.
Interestingly, nearly half of the suppliers is described as a housewife who was very often travel to Hong Kong. It was reported that suppliers will be paid as much as 20-30 yuan for each device they successful smuggled those devices.
Luxury items such as the iPhone and iPad is getting pretty strict rules in China, different from the rules in Hong Kong. Perhaps for this reason, many parties are trying to smuggle goods from Hong Kong to China.
