The secretary-general of the Mobile China Alliance, @老杳, announced in his Weibo account today that Huawei’s HiSilicon microchip manufacturer company will release its Kirin 920 chipset and that phones installed with this chipset should hit stores by the end of the month.

According to a photo released by the secretary-general, the Kirin 920 is built on 28nm architecture and follows the big.Little octa-core chipset design. Four of its cores are Cortex A15 and the rest are Cortex-A7. Its GPU is the Mali-T628, ARM’s newest GPU which can support, at most, a screen with 2560×1600 resolution.

The Kirin 920’s biggest chip can support LTE Cat 6 and global frequency. It also supports 4G voice message using SGLTE/CSFB and VoLTE.
