Buy Xiaomi Mi5
  • Thomas

Waiting for cool pad grand 5. Is cool pad a reliable brand like Xiaomi? or should i go for Mei zu?
Looking for a tablet 8″. Any recommendations ?

    • Yury

      Coolpad is good brand.

    • Coolpad is good brand in China, but there is a problem on multi-languages on software

    • Frank Tu

Coolpad is good brand as good as Meizu.

  • Linus

Hello. I cannot choose between Vivo Xshot, Xiaomi mi4 and Meizu mx4. My preferences are very good camera, great and bright screen, top-notch build quality. Also, I need to be sure that the device will work without any problems in Europe (google services and other stuff without any issues). Moreover, please clarify if the Vivo Xshot’s screen is bright enough (I contacted Vivo Malaysia and they told me that the screen brightness is only 362 nits, which is very low). Thank you.

    • Vivo Xshot preferably. It has 401 PPI SO no issues with screen brightness.

    • Yury

      Vivo Xshot

    • Frank Tu

      Vivo Xshot+1

  • riggs

Iuni U3, zopo zp999, ZTE Nubia z7 Max
Also what do you think about THL, Elephone, Doogee, cubot phones in overall???

    • ZTE Nubia Z7 Max is the best available option.

      • Madhan Kumar

        Yeah,you are absolutely right bro!

    • Frank Tu

You have a good taste, Iuni U3,ZTE Nubia z7 Max are all first class brands and flagship phones in China just like Samsung HTC and LG, zopo zp999 is close to the first class. THL, Elephone, Doogee, cubot are not the first class.

  • kutrgmap

Just curious about UMI X8 mini. It’s close to what I want for appearance but does it overal build quality stands out as good OEM?

    • Yury

Dont buy UMI. Not good quality.

    • Frank Tu

      No, it’s not even close.

  • Nikos

I can’t choose between IUNI U3, Xiaomi mi4 (FDD-LTE when it will be available), Meizu MX4 Pro ( specs only from rumors). I believe that iuni u3 has the best specs but is iuni a trustful company like xiaomi and meizu? I want good camera, screen, and great software with updates.

    • MI4 fulfills your criteria.

    • Yury

GIONEE is a company behind IUNI, so IUNI is A-brend like Xiaomi/Meizu/Oppo/Lenovo/Huawei/Zte/…
I like IUNI U3 very much too. My one of two best devices for me.

  • Madhan Kumar

Nubia Z7 Max(Supports FDD LTE,TDD LTE,Cdma/Evdo Rev B Networks) is a great option to buy & I am surely gonna buy it once it launches in my India!

    • I don’t think ZTE will launch it in India in this year, maybe not in 2 years. You can buy it from one online shop. 😀

      • Madhan Kumar

No,ZTE Corporation confirmed in facebook that they will launch Nubia Z7 Max model in India by Oct/November.So,I will better wait & buy it with Indian Warranty!

    • Chozhan

are you sure it supports EVDO REV B pls verify …thnx

  • satish

is xiaomi note a trustworthy buy because gsmarena confused me on battery potential

    • Xiaomi Redmi Note looks good, more than 500k units were sold in China, so it’s not a problem. 😀

      • Frank Tu

I think you mean Redmi Note, yes it’s as trustworthy as Samsung and LG in China.

  • pussy

Iocean X8 Mini and Iocean X8 Mini Pro, is it worthy alternative for Xperia? Thanks

    • The both phones has similar design like Xperia, affordable alternative phones

    • Frank Tu

If your budget is tight, then they are.

  • Luís Outeiro

    DOOGEE DG310

    • It’s an entry-class phone, but it’s enough for normal using.

    • Frank Tu

      entry-class

    • Luís Outeiro

      Agreed

  • Krisser

Hi Frank. I’m looking for a device with the following specs: 4,5 tot 4,7 inch full HD display, dual-sim, LTE, >2.500 mAh, good GPS, 2/3GB RAM, micro-SD. What can you propose me? Many thanks!

    • zte nubia z7 mini, find it at oppomart

    • Frank Tu

zte nubia z7 mini or zte nubia z7 max

  • cajrix

what is a best phone deal, about 150$ value, metal body, 1280×720 ogs, gorilla glass display?

    • Redmi 1s

      • Redmi 1S is not metal body, maybe find some Xiaomi mi4 copy phones

    • Frank Tu

There are no full Metal body phones under 150$ yet.

  • Bulent

Hi Frank. I’m looking for 5 / 5,5 inch full HD display, Gorilla(3)glass, Dual-sim, LTE, 800MHz band support for Vodafone NL >2.500 mAh, good GPS for navigation, 2/3GB RAM, micro-SD.

    • Oneplus one

      • Cheng-Peter

Oneplus One doesn’t support LTE 800 Mhz, does it ?

        • Frank Tu

Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 can unblock all bands.

          • Bulent

Frank is there any device with this specs?

5 / 5,5 inch full HD display, Gorilla(3)glass, Dual-sim, LTE, 800MHz band support for Vodafone NL >2.500 mAh, good GPS for navigation, 2/3GB RAM, micro-SD.

      • Bulent

One Plus one is single sim, is out of question

  • kostas

hi,i’m between zte nubia z7 mini and zopo zp999,not big gamer, just need dual sim, good signal strength,4g,battery

    • I recommend nubia z7 mini, Qualcomm processor maybe is better. 😀

    • Frank Tu

Their specs are very close, but zp999 will have a sapphire screen, and z7 mini is cheaper

  • Alex S

What chinese phone has the best camera? I cannot decide between zte z7 mini, xiaomi mi4 or the huawei ascend p7?

    • Wait for oppo N3

    • nubiz z7 is good, not z7 mini

    • Frank Tu

For rear camera, Xiaomi Mi4>Z7mini>Huawei Ascend P7
For front camera Huawei Ascend P7>Xiaomi Mi4>Z7mini

  • TArEk Egy

ELEPHONE G5 is it good cheap option , if not what is the other good option

    • I recommend umi zero, nice appearance and good camera, a little more money than elephone g5

    • Frank Tu

If your budget is below $200, I would suggest you to wait for Elephone G6.

  • toioioio

    huawei honor 6

    • toioioio

how does it fare against the nubia 7 or equivalent dual sim phones?

      • Frank Tu

The only problem of huawei honor 6 to me is it’s made of plastic, the back cover and the frame. And Huawei made them lake metal and glass, make me feel been decieved.

  • ARUN SUBRAMANIAN

hi frank..am looking for great camera phone…max budget is RMB 1999…confused between Meixu Mx4,Xiaomi Mi4 and IUNI U3..Please recommend…if any other options,do suggest the same

    • Meizu MX4 is a good option, maybe wait for the oppo n3

      • Frank Tu

Meizu has the 20 Megapixel Rear camera, but be sure the front facing camera is 2 Megapixe

  • Ted

Hey Frank, what other phones out there have thin bezels like IUNI U3? Really tempted to get a U3 but it’s not available yet as far as I know.

    • IUNI U3 will be available at end of October, please try to find it on oppomart.

    • Frank Tu

Meizu MX4 have the thinest bezel.

      • Ted

Which phone has the highest screen to body ratio?

        • Frank Tu

          Lenovo k920 vibe z pro

  • joe

Hi frank, is the meizu mx4 available to buy yet or is it still in pre-order. Also where can I buy it at the cheapest price aliexpress or is there another cheaper alternative.

    • Frank Tu

Gearbest is Meizu’s official international distributor, Aliexpress is the third party.

      • mf1gt3r

Gearbest is damn too expensive. Aliexpress is better.

        • Frank Tu

Meizu MX4 is cheap at gearbest, $344 with coupon.

  • nob

Hi, I am considering buying Xiaomi Mi4, but I am afraid of camera sound. Is it still that horrible? Thank you

    • Frank Tu

The sound can be turned of.

      • nob

Sorry, I wasn´t accurate – I mean a sound of video recorded by the phone.

        • Frank Tu

Nobody had complained this problem to me before, is there any other people have the same problem?

  • Cheng-Peter

HI, I’m looking for a device that supports LTE 800, 1800, 2600 (french frequencies). ZP999 does, any other one ?

    • Frank Tu

There are very less that supports LTE 800

  • satawat

I am lookina for 7 inch, 2k display, dual sim phablet.

    • Frank Tu

There are too less 2K devices in the market, maybe there will have in the next year, and remember to wait for Lenovo Vibe Zpro’s international edition.

  • manohar basavaraju

Hi Frank, how is Meizu’s MX4 build quality? Also did anyone using it face any problems because it uses Mediatek processor? I heard the problems related to previous Mediatek processors still exist with 6595 Octacore proc? Can you throw some light into the facts about this new processor? So that it is more easy for us to decide about Meizu? Thanks in advance. You are doing a great job. I like your blog. Infact I am addicted to it!

    • Frank Tu

Check out the youtube video I made,
Oneplus One vs Huawei Honor 6 vs Meizu Mx4 vs Huawei Mate 7 —— 4K video test

  • tpedreno

Hey Frank, I am hesitant between 2 phones from Meizu: Their new flagship MX4 or their previous machine MX3.
Since they will be both upgraded to Flyme 4.0 and the prices are quite lower for the MX3, I would like to receive your suggestion of whether the MX3 is a good alternative or if I should simply jump to MX4.

Last but not least, is the MX4 significantly bigger in hand than the MX3? I currently own a Hongmi and I don’t want a massive increase in terms of size.

    Thanks!

    • Frank Tu

Check out the meizu mx4 coupon article, they are almost the same price now, so why not to choose MX4? MX4 and MX3 are almost the same size but thinner bezel.

      • tpedreno

Thanks Frank. It certainly sounds like a great opportunity, but I guess in that case I would wait a little bit more because now internationally the MX4 can be around 340$ and MX3 is like 260$, still a long way for both to be closer in terms of price.
How did you like the MX4 anyway?

        • Frank Tu

          MX3 heat up very fast.

          • tpedreno

Ok, thanks for the advice. I’ll wait a little bit more to see the prices drop on the MX4 to be a good option to get.
Right now it’s terribly overpriced via international resellers!

  • chloe pebbles

Hello Frank not many people take time to help others out so thank you, I am need of a 6 inch screen or bigger mobile, with duel sim support for 4G in the Uk and if possible a good battery life, with good specs. I thought about the Vivo xplay S3 but only has 1 SIM, any ideas?

    • Frank Tu

There are no such devices in China yet.

      • chloe pebbles

Ok thank you for taking your time to reply, which Of the mobiles with 6 inch screens at the moment, would be your top flagship phone, vivo xplay 3s, Huawei Ascend Mate 7 Etc?

        • chloe pebbles

          Any thoughts on this Frank?

          • Frank Tu

Top flagship Android phone? Note4. I actually like super AMLED very much.

          • chloe pebbles

Frank if I went down to 5.5 inch screen which do you think would be best, not sony, Good battery, 4G UK, dual sim if possible but not a deal breaker and good camera, top specs, thank you.

          • Frank Tu

            Nubia Z7 max?

          • chloe pebbles

Had a look at quite a websites and reviews and this looks great, only problem they all state different frequencies for 4G, Can you confirm this will work on 4G in the uk before I order it, thank you.

  • Charles

Hi Frank. I thinking of buying a new smartphone and currently using Lenovo S650. I’m thinking of getting smartphone with excellent camera on both front and back. Front camera is pretty important for me because I take a lot of selfies. I also need a lot of storage because of my tendency to store a lot of music and videos in the phone. Should I go for Vivo Xshot or you have other suggestions in mind? My budget limit is 450 USD.

    • Frank Tu

Yes, vivo xshot is a good option, and Meizu MX4 is a good option too(20 mp rear camera).

      • Charles

Yes, I’m definitely looking into Meizu MX4 too. Thanks for taking your time to answer my questions.

  • chloe pebbles

HELLO FRANK. Thanks for taking your time to help people out. I need a mobile with a screen size of at least 6 inches, duel sim, have support for 4G in the uk and if possible a good battery life with good specs, I have been waiting and waiting to see if anything new to come out, would come along, the closest I have came to finding anything is the vivo xplay 3s but only has 1 Siim, any help would be great.

    • Frank Tu

Coolpad Dashen is very close, but it’s not 4G.

      • chloe pebbles

Do you think Vivo might reduce the price of the vivo xplay 3s or maybe upgrade the motherboard as it is nearly a year old?

        • Frank Tu

Vivo xplay 3s’ price will be reduced eventually. The reason their products are always overpriced is because they don’t sell online, they have tons of distributors all of China, and promote their products to guys who fall in love with hardware design at the first sight.

    • Huawei mate 7

  • Adam Irvine

Doogee Turbo2 DG900… Any good? (Coming in at £136 from CooliCool seems good for the money..?)

    • Frank Tu

I don’t know why there are so many MT6592 devices with 1080P resolution, I had written an article”Why is eight-core (octa-core) MT6592 still laggy on cell phones?” several months ago, which explained why MT6592 will be laggy on 1080P resolutio.

      • Adam Irvine

Ok, but that aside, do you think it will be any good?

I’m not after the 1080p side of things, 720p would be sufficient I imagine, but I did look at phones like the Elephone P2000 but if I recall correct it didn’t have backlit buttons (which I found very odd) and generally anything else around that price point with an MTK6592 has only 1gb of Ram and possibly still running on 4.2.X, I’ve owned a few THLs in the past and i’ve gone right off them given the fact that they don’t care about Android support for ‘slightly’ older devices… So I thought I’d give the DG900 a shot for the money..? Bad move?

        • Frank Tu

Considered you are the kind of person who have a hobby of collecting cell phones shipped from China, it can be a good move, DG900 has a good hardware design.

          • Adam Irvine

Ok good stuff! I wouldn’t say I particularly have a Hobby for it (if I had the finances I would!) I do try to keep up with the news on it all however. I own a OnePlus One for myself which I was fortunate to get an early supporter invite for back in April/May… I’m well happy with this, my Girlfriend has a THL W100 in desperate need of replacement though… It has been a good phone for the duration but it’s old now, feels how Chinese phones used to feel and not how they do now I’m sure… Before the OnePlus One I had a Zopo ZP998 (Loved that phone, I found it really nice to use, didn’t lag and the shape and thickness was lovely… (But then I got the opportunity to pay £269.99 for the OPO so I went for it!) – And I haven’t looked back 😉

Where I’m coming from with all of this is: My Dad want’s to get into the smartphone world (from a dead basic Sony Erricsson Feature Phone) and so I thought the DG900 would be quite a nice inexpensive way to get him into it… I’ve got one on pre-order for him and I was thinking if it turns out any good then I’d get my girlfriend the white version for Christmas and everyone would be happy (she’d kill me if I spent big money on a phone for her! (we’re buying a house and having a baby in Jan so money is a little tight… Otherwise I would have gone for the MX4 without a doubt for her!))…

So I guess I’ll just wait and see what it’s like then go from there, but we’re getting closer and closer to Christmas now and phones can take a while to get to the UK from China…

Thanks for the reply Frank Tu! 🙂

          • Frank Tu

            Thanks for writting to gizmochina…..

  • J

Advise for a dual sim card LTE phone (to be used outside China) with:

    – min screen size 4″ to max 5.2″
    – reasonable weight for its size
    – min 2GB RAM (Android, Windows or any OS is fine)
    – limited bloatware (in Android case)
    – 16GB storage with memory card or min 32GB without memory card
    – admirable battery life that can last for one day of moderate usage
    – sensible price (below $400)
    – good international after sales support

Considering between Huawei Honor 6, ZTE Nubia Z7 Mini, XiaoMi Mi4 or Meizu MX4 Pro (the quirky side within me is curious with the Ubuntu Touch version) however other advices are welcome too 🙂

    Love your coverage!

    Thanks~

    • Frank Tu

Nubia Z7 mini does not have admirable battery life, if you really need a a dual sim card LTE phone, then Nubia Z7 Max would be the best option.

      • J

Thanks for the prompt response Frank! Appreciate that. Will go back to square one again then~
Keep up the good work, GizmoChina is very informative.

  • ctas

Hello.I have just discovered the site i would like to congratulate you and the rest of the team, for your work thats you have done and the whole layout, looks so solid and userfriendly. Also the subjects that are discussed are really hot.I want to make a question.Iam between these devices:

    ->Xiaomi mi4
    ->Oneplus One
    ->Huawei honor 6

    • ctas

Which one you suggest me and why,and finally can you suggest me any trustworthy shops with goods prices among the market??Thank you for your time.

      • Frank Tu

Xiaomi Mi4 and Oneplus are almost the same, if you need 4G, then choose Oneplus One, if you like MIUI, and do not need 4G, then Xiaomi Mi4 would be the right one. Huawei Honor 6 is the lightest device among them, cause it’s all made of plastic.

        • ctas

One last question and you will get rid of me,What’s your opinion about the upcoming Zte V5,i see same specs and 4g support at a competitive price. Thanks again.

          • Frank Tu

I don’t want to get rid of you, and I don’t know how to answer this.

    • One Plus One has slight edge over the other two.

  • satawat

    Hi, Frank;
Seems like there is no answer for me.
Do you think there will be any manufacturer who will make a 7 inch, 2k display, dual sim phablet?
I wanna upgrade my MediaPad X1!

    • Frank Tu

      Hi Satawat,
I got a MediaPad X1 too! It really can not be used as a phone! Kirin910 is really laggy on 1080P! I think there will be 7 inch, 2k display, dual sim phablet in the future.

      • Thierry

It is around 200 USD here in Dubai

        • Frank Tu

          I don’t like clone devices.

  • nasman

    hello Frank .
i am looking for a mobile with sd card and removable battery for around $400.
i like the look of xiamo mi4 and one m8 .

    • Frank Tu

HTC one M8 is not around $400, if the budget is the problem , you may choose Xiaomi Mi4, there won’t be too much diffence on these 3 devices, and MIUI is one of the best Android UI.

      • nasman

        Thanks for the reply frank
I really like the look of the mi4 but no SD card is a big no no . I am considering the elephone p4000 it looks the same as the mi4 but with SD card . I have not tryed miui but I might try it on my one m7

Looking for a big screen tablet. I have short listed Cube talk 9x. Got 2 questions

    1. Is it a good choice for given price range of 250$, any other alternate model/brand if you suggest to opt for

    2. I am not able to find difference in between Cube talk 9x 16GB and 32GB model. could you please explain any difference rather than 16 GB and 32 GB storage.

1 If you are looking for a big screen tablet at the price range of 250$ that can make phone calls, then Cube talk 9x is the only choice. BTW, I can’t find a phone tablet that is woth buying, the mic is not as good as the mic on the phones, I’ve tried Huawei Honor X1, and people can not hear me clearly when making calls.

2 The difference is only the storage.

  • leo

I’m waiting for the iuni u3.. Need that dual sim and quick processor and 3gig ram..

    • Frank Tu

Yes, and laggy, poor battery life.

      • J

I’m considering IUNI U3 too however is it really that its performance laggy and has poor battery life though U3 is packed with 3,000mAh juice, 3GB RAM and Snapdragon 801 processor?
If it is true, do you think it is due to the OS or simply because the hardware aren’t compatible with the software?
        Thanks!

        • Frank Tu

8974AA+LPDDR3 800MHz+eMMC 4.5。Quad HD @ 12.8 GB/s, can you understand now? Please vote this up if anyone can understand.

          • J

Sorry Frank, I’m not an expert in this area.
Though I did a quick browse, apparently these refer to the SoC version (Snapdragon 801 version 3 – MSM8974AA, I thought IUNI comes with MSM8974AB?) with its associated performance capabilities (GPU and CPU clock, image and video processing, and flash memory speed); I’m unable to connect the dots regarding to the relevancy to the overall phone performance 😀 Please advise.
            Thanks!

          • Frank Tu

That would be need to explain a lot, please check my article:
Why is eight-core (octa-core) MT6592 still laggy on cell phones?

          • J

Ok, got it. This is a new knowledge for me lol but understand the gist of what were you trying to convey. Thanks for the insight!

  • Harry Bond

I’m looking for a 4g phone to use in CN, HK, KR and USA. Other than 4g international use, battery life, photography and audio are the next most important things. Originally I was thinking xshot, mx4 pro, or one plus one. do you know which is best or are there any others you suggest?

    • Frank Tu

Depends on your budget, I would choose Oneplus One.

  • Andy

I want am 8″ tablet with 3g. IsFnf ifive mini 3gs a good buy. IF not what’s the alternative. Thanks Frank for help

    • Frank Tu

If you want to use it as a phone a lot, then please be aware the mic on tablet is not as good as on cellphones’. If it’s just for 3G network, I would suggest iPad.

  • gabriel salcedo

hi! I’m in train of buying between Doogee DG800,THL T6S or
LAUDE PULSE S800. No games, no social networks. Only good camera for scanning text from picture taken from written proceedings (to be sent to Word), good hearing sound, good gps and decent battery (this last not so important) Any idea? In some time may be the DG900, but now those ones. Very thanks, greetings from Buenos Aires, Argentina!

Hi Frank!, I have a question for you, what chinese device would you recommend at a range of $80 – $90?
my options: Doogee vogayer 2 DG310 and the DG500 – do you have any other option or these are fine?

    • Frank Tu

Leagoo Lead3. Same specs, lowest price. They have their ROM, so the quality shouldn’t be bad.

      • Undearth

Ok, I bought it, when I have it I’m going to write a short review- Thanks

        • Frank Tu

Hi Frank, have just discovered your blog! Very impressive and informative!
I am interested in the 64 bit chips that quite a number of Chinese brands are now begining
to utilize in their phones and they are either the snapdragon 410 or 615 series and the
Mediatek 6732 or 6752 series. Any comment on these new generation chips in terms of
performance as compared to the current snapdragon 800 series and the Mediatek 6582 or
6592series? Also the following phones have been or in the process of being released or
    launched ; 1. Coolpad dashen f2 64 bit snapdragon 615 720 res
    2. Xiaomi 64 bit snapdragon 615 fhd
    3. Jiayu s3 64 bit Mediatek 6752 1.7 Ghz fhd
    4. Huawei 4 x 64 bit snapdragon 615 1.2 Ghz 720 res
    5. Lenovo sisley s90 64 bit snapdragon 615
Which would be your choice in order of preference in terms of performance based on
the specs given and brand reliability? Thanks so much for your input!!!

    • Frank Tu

All of the above except Jiayu s3, cause 99.99% people in China do not know this brand.

  • benjaminw42

Hi Frank, great blog, can you recommend? specs i care for: 4.5-5.0inch, average resolution but good performance, amazing battery, no heating issues, and modern design? 100-200 usd dollars

    • Frank Tu

No smartphones has no heating issues, I suggest Elephone G6.

  • Roger

Hi Frank, I’m looking for a phone for under $200 with good resolution, good battery life and a good camera (it needs to be able to take decent photos at night which I know most cheaper phones struggle with). It also needs to support 850Mhz WCDMA. 2GB of RAM would be good, but I guess 1GB will be fine if it has a stable ROM. Any suggestions?

  • Fabian Johnson

    hi Frank, I’m from India.
I wish to buy a good phone and after a lot of searching on the internet, my choices are as follows:
OnePlus One, Xiaomi Mi4 or IUNI U3.
of these, I’ve heard OnePlus and Xiaomi are going to release their phones in India by December 2014.
But, i find IUNI U3 to be my better choice but no news about availability in india. any idea about whether it will be available in india? Another problem is getting an English ROM version. I’m not so fond of the colorOS, wish to know whether any suitable CyanogenMOD can be installed on it or not.

  • Tommy

Hi Frank, which phone do you recommend that has a very good camera that is under $250 USD?

  • Chia chia

Hi Frank, is Umi Zero worth buying under $200? Is there any other phone that has better hardware and camera than Umi Zero under $200?

    • Frank Tu

It is worth it if you can get it under $199 without shipping fees. It’s powered with sony imx214, no phones under $200 have a better camera than this. But the hardware wuality might be not as good as the camera, you can’t expect from from a company called UMI, check their reputation online.

  • CJ

    Hi Frank,

I live in Canada and my carrier is Telus Mobility. My research suggest that Telus has these bands: (Telus operates on 850Mhz and 1900Mhz HSPA+ and 1700Mhz LTE.)

Now I am considering buying the Umi Zero. Will I be able to make/send calls + texts as well get HSPA+ data speeds?

  • gabriel salcedo

  • Sorin Balan

    Hello Frank.
I want a cheap chineese android phone (dirt cheep) to use as a secondary phone (in particular for browsing the internet to keep my main phone charged longer).
What would you suggest between Cubot s200, Leagoo lead 7 and THL 4000 (this beeing the last option because of the cameras and the fact that the battery doesen’t look that large to hold 4000 mah).
    Thank you.

    • Frank Tu

Leagoo lead 7, new devices are always better.

      • Sorin Balan

        Hello Frank,
I owned the Lead 7 for a month and sold it when i first saw a Picture of the Kingzone Z1 (love at first site). :))
Can you tell me some impresions of the mt6572 combined with the 3500mah battery and the 720p screen on the Z1? I imagine you had your hands on a few phones using this SOC and you know how it Will stack up.
I love the way the Kingzone looks but i have some concerns about the battery.
Do you have a full Review planed for it in the imediate future?
        Thanks!

After some careful searching I have set my eyes on JiaYu S3! I often play high-end games and am very concerned about the heat issues. So could you please tell me whether this phone heats up easily?
    Thanks,
    Dani

    • Frank Tu

Sorry, I havn’t used that phone yet.

  • Mohd Shafaq Rafi

    Hi Frank,
i’ve already bought UMI zero and using it. you are right since UMI is not a reputed company we cannot rely on the quality. Although it appears to be working fine except some functions like air gesture and mart screen not working quet smoothly. But this can be removed after some updates.

  • Pratik Bhandari

Can you help me out, I have a situation.

    Aight guys, I need some help .. I bought a phone (off brand ) which is amazing by the way. And comes unlocked on all frequencies { GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz WCDMA 900/2100MHz FDD-LTE 800/1800/2600MHz }
But unfortunately my carrier Wind has 1700/2100 ..
And still my phone doesn’t work properly.. ( sim works, but always in roaming, so I can receive calls but nobody got that much money to waste )
And I find it retarded for wind for not operating with one of the frequencies that it needs i.e. 2100 that my phone does have, I expected It would happen but was almost sure that I could at worst case scenario use only 3G coz I dont dont have 1700Mhz on the phone.
    So here is the question.
Is there any way for me to unlock that 1700Mhz by rooting, or anything ( though I know its the hardware anteenas that use the frequency so rooting shouldn’t work , but the lady at wind told me I could root it and get 1700 Mhz .. I was kind of amused )

    • Pratik Bhandari

      My phone is Ecoo E04

Hello, I want to buy xiaomi mi4 in mainland China with a China Unicom SIM card. I was wondering is it the best way is to buy from their mi.com website? And, will I be able to use it when I go back to Indonesia and use a Tri or “3” SIM card? thanks!

  • james

    hi frank
i was just wondering what the screen to body ratio of the elephone p7000 is?

  • George Silversurfer

I just learned some disturbing news that even if the lte band of the Chinese cel in question (1800/2100/2600) it does not mean it is compatible with American and Canadian carriers with matching bands.
