MediaTek, near the end of last year, announced two new SoCs, the MT6753 and the MT6735. Today, details of the latter’s specifications have leaked and shows that the new processor may perform better than Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 410 SoC.
According to reports, the MediaTek MT6735 comes with a quad-core processor that runs at a stock frequency of 1.3GHz and is coupled by a Mali-T720 GPU which can support up to a 1080p screen. The reports also state that in multiple CPU and GPU tests including Geekbench and GFXbench, the MT6735 beat out the Snapdragon 410’s CPU as well as its Adreno 306 GPU.
The leak also says that in addition to the standard version of the the MT6735 will be released in two other variants – the MT6735M and the MT6735P – both of which will feature lower clocked Mali-T720 GPUs. The MT6735M will be clocked at only 600MHz while the MT6735P’s GPU will have a frequency of only 400MHz. The lower GPU clocks will mean the former can only support up to 720p screens while the latter can support only up to qHD displays.
