Vivo has officially launched its latest flagship smartphone, the Vivo X5 Pro, at press events held in both Beijing and Guangzhou in China.
The Vivo X5 Pro features a fairly unique design with its 2.5D glass panels on both the front and rear of the device and then surrounded by a metal frame. The front of the device features no physical home or navigation buttons and instead uses capacitive touch keys placed on the bottom bezel.
The Super AMOLED display of the Vivo X5 Pro measures 5.2-inches and has a display resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. On the inside, the device features a 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 64-bit octa-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, 2,300mAh battery, and a CS4398 DAC + AX97220 op amp combo for HiFi sound. It will run Android 5.0 Lollipop with the company’s FunTouch OS 2.1 on top.
The X5 Pro also features a 13-megapixel rear camera with a 5-element lens protected by sapphire glass and supports Phase-detection Auto-focus (PDAF) as well as a 8-megapixel front-facing camera. The front-facing camera also facilitates the device’s innovative eye recognition technology for securing data and applications.
Vivo did not announce the official price and date of availability of the X5 Pro at the event but that information should be made available very soon.
