ZUK, the sub-brand of Lenovo in partnership with Qihoo 360, has announced on their Weibo page that they’re planning to hold a conference on July 21 but did not reveal what the event will be about.
Details on the company’s first device, the ZUK Z1, have been leaked before including its hardware specifications and even camera samples but its release date has not been leaked yet but since the Z1 is the only device the company has revealed so far it’s pretty safe to say that the event next week will probably involve it.
There’s also a chance that the company is also announcing a partnership with China’s Jingdong Mall as the latter’s logo can be slightly seen on the announcement picture ZUK posted. As to what the partnership will entail, we don’t know yet but it could either be an exclusivity deal for selling the ZUK Z1 or something similar.
Whether ZUK is planning to launch the Z1, announce a partnership with Jingdong Mall, or both, it’s exciting to see the new company making moves as early as now. It’s been previously revealed that the company will be focusing on Cyanogenmod-powered devices so it will be interesting to see what they bring to the market. We’ll just have to wait for next week’s event to see what the company has in store.
