UMI has officially launched the UMI Hammer S, a new mid-range smartphone which is an upgraded version of the company’s Hammer smartphone that was released last April.
Even though the Hammer S is meant to be an upgrade to the Hammer, it comes with a lot of new features that largely differentiate it from its predecessor. The phone’s overall design has been changed to make it look more like the company’s flagship Iron smartphone. It also now comes with a larger display at 5.5-inches, and a faster processor in the MediaTek MT6735 quad-core CPU.
Some of the its other key features and changes include a USB Type-C connector, a fingerprint sensor, an IR transmitter coupled with the company’s HOME+ technology, a 2.5D curved display, a new Sony IMX 167 sensor camera, and a bigger 3200mAh battery. The rest of its features such as its 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage have remained the same.
The UMI Hammer S is now available for pre-order at several China-based online retailers for a price of USD149.99. However, UMI is currently running a “Treasure Hunt” promotion until September 15 that gives fans a chance to win discount coupons for the UMI Hammer S.
