doogee-f5-unveil-01DOOGEE has said that since the launch of the iPhone 6/6 Plus, almost every manufacturer has released a device that copies its design which include its rounded edges and 2.5D arc glass panels. But with the F5, DOOGEE is saying no to copying and yes to being “genuinely yourself” and doing your own thing. So unlike the iPhone 6/6 Plus and its many design copycats, the F5 features square corners, a chamfered edge, and a flat glass panel. According to the company, the F5’s body is made from liquid metal which is more resistant to nicks, scuffs, and scratches.

As for its specifications, the F5 features a 5.5-inch full HD 1080p display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection, a MediaTek MT6753 octa-core processor, an ARM Mali-720 GPU, 3GB of RAM, and 4G LTE connectivity. It’s also equipped with a 13-megapixel Samsung camera with dual LED flash, a 5 megapixel front-facing camera, a 3000mAh battery with 5V2A fast charging, and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.

The DOOGEE F5 is available in three different colors and will be priced at only $149.99 which is quite competitive given its impressive specifications. According to the company, the F5 will officially start shipping sometime in September.

im REALLY hoping for this to be a HIT !

Yea me too, if this one is a succes then other companies might want to let go the iPhone-ish designs as well. Who knows, we might see original and awesome designs in 2016.

It won’t be. Thankfully people have learned that design like this, while may look different (and people love to be ‘different’), is an utter ergonomic disaster.

This will die a dog’s death.

You don’t know for sure until reviews are coming in or until you can hold it. Although I have to admit that it looks sharp.

Of course, this isn’t a declaration but a prediction, but it may very well come true.

yep .. THAT and doogee’s price range is quite tempting !

  • It looks like my old Lenovo K900 with its sharp corners, which after using it for awhile turned out to be a terrible design because the corners would dig into your palm when you hold it.

There is UMI Iron pro in the same price range, and has three security features (fingerprint, iris scanner and vocal), more original design, dedicated headphone amplifier and real 3000+MAh battery (no 2600mah like this one). There is only one clear winner here!

I like the Doogee F5’s tempering glass and 3GB RAM. Besides, Oukitel k6000 pro with 6000mAh, 3GB+32GB storage, IP64 certification and Android Marshmallow is also a good budget phone with only $149.99, I prefer this one.
