Huawei Announces G8 Mid-Range Smartphones, Focuses on Low-Light Photography

by Martin 5

Among its many announcements at IFA today, including the launch of both the Mate S and the Huawei Watch, the company also officially unveiled a new mid-range smartphone simply called the G8 which focuses primarily of improved low-light photography performance.

Not much information was revealed about the G8, and how it’s supposed to shoot better low-light photos, other than it features a 13-megapixel rear camera that’s coupled with a dual LED flash, a 5.5-inch full HD 1080p display, a mid-range Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, a 3000mAh battery, and Android 5.1 out of the box.

Those specifications are pretty standard for a smartphone in this category so we’re curious about what Huawei is bringing to the table with the G8 to make it stand out in an already crowded mid-range smartphone segment.

No price or date of availability have been announced for the G8 so we’ll have to wait to see if Huawei announces those details before IFA ends.

waiting on review (proper) of the Inew L3, if anything has the chance to be good and cheap, it’s that.
Otherwise i might just blow a wad on the Nubia Z9 Mini with Imx234 and be done with it (and not a bad price now Gearbest have UK warehouse).

  • How is device performance, cost wise its good.

huawei usually makes “crap” camera and when I mean crap its mediocre at best for the price they charge. If you want a chinese phone with good camera go with oppo find 7 series or r7.
