Along with the launch of the new Meizu Pro 5 on September 23, the company is also unveiling the next major update to their Android-based operating system, Flyme 5, but it looks like the new OS won’t be coming pre-installed on the Pro 5 in spite of the two product launching in the same conference.
Flyme chief designer Yang Yan said on his Weibo account that Flyme 5 will first come to the Meizu MX5 while other devices, including the Pro 5, will receive the new update later on. He mentions that the company wants to make sure the new operating system is stable, smooth, and properly tuned with the specific hardware before releasing it.
This led to Meizu ultimately deciding to give the Pro 5 the more stable Flyme 4.5 operating system in the meantime.Always be the first to know. Follow us:
