Last September 16, Qualcomm officially announced the third edition of its Quick Charge technology, simply called Quick Charge 3.0. At the same time, gadget accessory manufacturer Verus Peripheral showed off their first Quick Charge 3.0 charger.
The charger, with model number WC20Q3WWBLK, supports 100-240V input, features an interchangeable AC plug to adapt to different socket types, and an output range of 3.6V-6.5V@3A, 6.5V-9V@2A, and 9V-12V@1.5A.
Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 brings with it a slew of upgrades from the previous QC 2.0 including a more flexible voltage range from 5V to 20V with 200mV increments which enables the device to get the optimized amount of voltage and charging current.
Quick Charge 3.0 also features Qualcomm’s INOV (Intelligent Negotiation for Optimum Voltage) technology which enhances charging efficiency by 27% and reduces heat by 45% which protects the device’s battery life.
Additionally, Quick Charge 3.0 is downwards compatible with devices that support Quick Charge 2.0 although we’re not sure if all of Quick Charge 3.0’s new features will work with Quick Charge 2.0 devices.
