Huawei is expected to unveil its next-generation flagship Mate 8 later this month on November 26 and is planning to unveil the new Kirin 950 CPU that will power the Mate 8 next week but today the rest of the upcoming devices specifications were leaked online via a listing on the GFXBench database.
According to the listing, the Mate 8 will feature Google’s latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow processor, a large 6-inch full HD 1080p resolution display, the aforementioned Kirin 950 CPU from HiSilicon which is clocked at 2.2GHz, an ARM Mali-T880 graphics chip which features support for the OpenGL ES3.1 graphical API, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The listing also unveils that the Mate 8 will be equipped with a 15-megapixel rear camera with full HD 1080p video recording capability and a 7-megapixel front-facing camera.
It looks though that the GFXBench benchmarks tests on the Mate 8 have not been completed as many of the results in the listing are still blank. Only the low-level tests which include the ALU 2, Driver Overhead 2, and Texturing tests were finished. The results from those tests were compared to the results from competing devices including the iPhone 6S and the Galaxy S6 Edge+. We’ll just have to wait for November 26 for the company to officially release the Mate 8 to find out how well the device really and fully performs.
