We previously reported that Xiaomi was planning to release the successor to its original Mi Band fitness bracelet which will be called the Mi Band 1S and today the company has officially teased the upcoming wearable on their official Weibo page.
The company made a post stating that they were announcing and releasing new “heart products” tomorrow which could mean the company plans to either officially unveil or release the new Mi Band 1S tomorrow. Xiaomi could also be releasing new apps or software that will work with the new Mi Band 1S and its new heart rate sensor which is one of the main new features of the new bracelet.
The new heart rate monitor will be able to detect the user’s heart rate while awake or asleep bringing Xiaomi’s fitness band closer to its competitors like the Jawbone UP. Xiaomi’s new fitness bracelet will also come with the same features as the original Mi Band including a step counter, a calorie counter, sleep monitor, notifications, and phone unlocking features.
As we previously reported, the new Mi Band 1S will be priced at around 99 Yuan making it the cheapest heart rate sensor-equipped fitness band in the market while Xiaomi’s original Mi Band has gotten a price drop bringing its price down to only 69 Yuan. We’re excited to find out what the company plans to announce tomorrow.
