With less than 24 hours remaining, Xiaomi’s Grand Finale event could possibly lead to the unveiling of much awaited Redmi Note 3 and the Mi Pad 2. Now just before the event, Xiaomi’s media director has posted the word “TEST” on the micro blogging website Weibo, using an Android Tablet which could be Mi Pad 2 further adding fuel to the fire. Guesses are he could be finally testing the tablet Mi Pad 2 before it sees the light of the day tomorrow.
The new tab features an all metal design with quad-core Intel Atom X5-Z8500 clocking 2.24 GHz coupled with 2 GB of RAM. It is the first time that Xiaomi is launching an Intel powered device in the market.
The presence of Intel Atom processor in Mi Pad 2 further indicates the possibility of Dual Operating Systems – MIUI 7 based on Android 5.1 Lollipop and Windows 10 OS on this tablet. Similar reports surfaced in the past as well which further adds credibility to the claim that new Mi Pad 2 will support dual boot system.
Mi Pad 2 with unibody metal design is a huge improvement over its predecessor Mi Pad which features the usual plastic body. It was also reported that Xiaomi could possibly launch two variants of Mi Pad 2. The basic model of Mi Pad 2 is expected to carry a price tag of 1499 Yuan while high end model should be priced at 1799 Yuan.
