Cubot S600 Mid-range Smartphone Features High-end Camera

by Martin 6

The Cubot S600 mid-range is the company’s latest mid-range smartphone and its first device to feature a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. Along with that, the S600 also features a powerful set of cameras that’s usually found on higher-end devices.

cubot-s600-04The S600 features a 16-megapixel rear camera that’s coupled with a Phase-Detection Auto-Focus chip that not only shortens the camera’s focusing time to only 0.3 seconds but also makes it more precise and accurate. As for its front-facing camera, the S600 comes with a powerful 8-megapixel sensor.

As for the rest of its features, the S600 comes with a 5-inch HD 720p IPS display with a panel of 2.5D curved glass, a MediaTek MT6735A 64-bit 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, dual SIM dual standby support, and a 2700mAh battery.

The Cubot S600 will be available in black, white and gold color variants and will come with Android 5.1 Lollipop pre-installed. It’s scheduled to start shipping in two weeks. More information on Cubot and its products can be found on their website.

how the HELL do u know the camera sensor is high-end ?!
no sensor model , no spec about filters or lens ?!

this better NOT be a CHEAP publicity stunt !

I have to agree. This is supposed to be a review site. Who cares whether it has PDAF, fluff is still fluff. To me high-end means large sensor, large pixels on sensor, fast (PDAF) focus and high quality lenses. And while I’m here can we stop getting excited about USB type-C ports? Type C is simply a buzzword, so many companies introducing USB 2.0 type-C ports and touting them as something marvelous. USB 3.1 type-C maybe, but not older/slower 2.0.

exactly … type c is just a shape to avoid the blondes :p and imbeciles from plugging usb the wrong way.
more of a vogue than a tech highlight.

i wish some cheaper companies put more thought , love and dedication in the camera sensor department of their entry and mid level phones for better purchasing parity

It’s Samsung of some sort, possibly an ISOCELL, so possibly similar to Meizu M2 but added benefit of PDAF.

      Samsung Camera
      Dual ISP Image chips
      5P lens
      ƒ/ 2.0 aperture
      Blue glass Infra-red filter

Would be interesting to know if this is same as used in X17, again with added PDAF and faster aperture. High end for Cubot.

When did 8MP interpolated to 16MP became “High end”?

    • Steve B

Where did you see that? Cubot claim Samsung camera, so I would presume 13MP ISOCELL intepolated rather than 8MP
