The New Year has just rolled in and new details on the highly anticipated Xiaomi Mi 5 flagship have been leaked online by popular technology analyst Pan Jiutang via Chinese social media network Weibo.
It was previously rumored that the Mi 5 would be released before China’s Spring Festival or New Year but according to Pan Jiutang, it looks like we won’t be seeing Xiaomi’s new flagship until after the annual event as he mentions that Xiaomi fans will be having a “bad New Year”. It’s also revealed that while many companies will be showcasing their smartphones featuring the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor will be featured at the annual CES convention this week, Xiaomi and its Mi 5 won’t be part of it.
Pan Jiutang doesn’t mention when the Xiaomi Mi 5 is expected to be released but previous reports revealed that Xiaomi may be waiting until they have enough stock to meet demand before they release the Mi 5. But it should still be safe to assume that Xiaomi will release the Mi 5 sometime within the first quarter of 2016. We’ll just have to wait for an official announcement or more details to be leaked online.
