Just 3 days ahead of launch, a key feature of Redmi 3 has been revealed, and that is the battery. The Xiaomi Redmi 3 will be fueled by a monstrous 4100mAh battery. Xiaomi has outdone itself this time as well as the battery capacity on this upcoming smartphone has surpassed the Redmi Note 3, which comes with a 4000mAh battery under the hood. Also, the thickness is said to be just 8.5mm, which is once again pretty impressive.

To recap, Xiaomi Redmi 3 features a 5-inch HD 1280 x 720p display and comes packed in a fully metallic frame with a unique Plaid design back cover. It will be running on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out of the box with MIUI 7 on top of it.

redmi 3 launch

Recently, it was revealed that Redmi 3 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 chipset under the hood, coupled with 2GB of RAM. You will be getting 16GB of on board storage on this phone as well as support for 32GB expandable storage.

Redmi 3 will feature 13MP rear and 5MP front cameras which are the usual specs for affordable smartphones these days.

This smartphone is expected to carry a price tag of 699 Yuan ($106 approx) which will definitely make it a worthy competitor at this price point. No smartphone in this range flaunts a metal frame with a beautiful plaid design and an enormous battery at such a low price.

With the launch of this smartphone Xiaomi will redefine the budget segment. It looks like the Redmi 3 smartphone will take the current mid-range segment by storm when released.

So, what do you think? Will Xiaomi prove itself as a champion of the budget segment with the new Redmi model?

You should check the comments on weibo and you’ll notice how this phone is getting roasted by Bins followers.
There are comments like: “…looks like bathroom tiles” “…and I thought I was ugly” “….I always supported the Millet but now it went to far”.
I have to partially agree with these, I’m not really a fan of the design either. i much rather stay with my beloved Mi4C and Note.
