We haven’t heard from Gionee much in the past couple of months in terms of new flagship launches. But it appears Gionee is back in action and a new smartphone from the brand is spotted on the benchmarking website Geekbench.
The marquee feature of this leaked smartphone is that it is equipped with 4GB of RAM which most of the flagship devices come with currently along with the new Helio P10 chip. So, this phone could be one of the 100 hundred other devices to be powered by this chip.
The leak reveals that Gionee W909 is powered by an octa-core Helio P10 (MediaTek MT6755M) chipset under the hood. Helio P10 is low power consumption chipset and brings many upgrades in terms of network, camera, audio and video.
One more thing we get to know about this smartphone from the leak is that it runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop. This is kind of disappointing as it features pretty good specs but runs slightly outdated firmware.
Performance scores for Gionee W909 on the single-core test is 820 and multi-core test score is 3102, which are considered mid-range. However, real world performance may vary. At the moment, rest of the specifications of this smartphone remain a secret but we can expect more features to pop up in next few weeks.
