On March 16, Mediatek officially announced the Helio X20 SoC, which is expected to power numerous flagship devices coming from Chinese manufacturers. Today, it was turn for LeTV Le2 to be confirmed sporting the Helio X20 SoC along with 3GB RAM as the official posters reveal.
In the beginning of 2015, a few smartphones sported 3GB RAM. By the end of the year, probably thousands come with a 3GB module as a standard. As it is logical, this years’ flagships sport 4GB of RAM, some even come with even more but 3GB still remains a good selling point.
But where does Mediatek put the Helio X20 on the market? Is it a flagship SoC or something less? The company clearly places Helio X10 and X20 in the flagship SoC category, although not in direct comparison with the SD810 and SD820 SoC. For reference, the X20 gives around 90K in the Antutu benchmark while SD820 is at around 130,000.
So, would you be interested in a Le2 with X20 + 3GB RAM? If it comes at the price tag of its predecessor the Le1, we would love to have one, especially if it comes with improved battery life and somewhat improved software. Judging from the Le1, the build quality is going to be a charm.
