by Suhaib 10

Xiaomi is going to hold a press conference in National Convention Center in Beijing, China on May 10 to finally unveil their big screen device Xiaomi Max. Though, the specifications of this smartphone are already a public knowledge, this device surfaced on GFXBench website further confirming the purported specifications.

Xiaomi Max

Xiaomi Max is based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and will run MIUI 8 on top of it. It will flaunt a large 6.44 inch 1080p display. Under the hood it packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 hexa core chipset clocking 1.8GHz. There is 2GB RAM and 16GB of native storage on this smartphone. Xiaomi Max brings on board 16MP and 5MP shooters in addition to the 4500mAh battery.

It was also reported that there could be a high end version of this smartphone as well featuring a Snapdragon 820 chipset and 4GB RAM but nothing is confirmed right now. There was also a mention of Xiaomi Max variant with 3GB RAM which makes all of this a little more confusing.

May 10 is just around the corner and if Xiaomi is planning to launch various versions of Xiaomi Max then more details are likely to emerge in the coming days. Stay tuned.

What about OLED? Xiaomi was supposed to have signed a deal with LG. Now that OLED is cheaper than LCD..

      they always disappoint there…

as a midranger this phone is total fail when there is galaxy a9 pro with even bigger battery and more RAM, hope there is a high end version.

    • markiz

Come on, A9 is >550€. Not nearly the same price range.

      • napoleonic sp007rz

ah, make sense then… I had no idea A9 pro is that expensive… damn it used to be that high tech hardware at $500 level is the absolute top range, now a $700 phone is apparently a midranger, wtf.

Brother, that’s A9 (regular) here in Europe (Germany). It’s even more expensive where I live.
A9 Pro has not been released, but it will surely be more than 600€.
That’s why I have developed interest for these chinese OEMs. That, and Touchwiz 🙂

The A9 Pro costs twice as much.

  • Muhammad Yasir

if cheap , is good then !

Above 1000 yuan mark 16GB storage (especially without MicroSD support) and 2GB RAM (especially with MIUI) isn’t acceptable anymore IMO.
