Cool1 Dual Hands On Images: All-metal, dual-camera flagship

by Jed John 9

LeEco and CoolPad’s joint smartphone known as Cool 1 was launched a couple of hours ago, tagging along a premium body build and some amazing features. One of the stunning features is the dual camera set up at the rear with an amazing price tag starting at 1099 Yuan ($167).

We got hands on photos (courtesy of PCPOP) of the all-metal 5.5-inch  Cool1 flagship and the device looks nothing short of being classy. The Cool 1 presents a sturdy build with well-chamfered edges. This should make the device suitable for one-handed operation.

The display design features a flat display screen with narrow bezels at the edges. However, like the other LeEco phones, the black borders are back to haunt us again. There is no visible home button at the bottom as it is embedded within the display and the display output looks sharp and crisp clear.

At the back, there is the dual camera setup, arranged vertically together, and slightly protruded from the smartphone. There’s the dual-tone LED flash just by the side of the camera and the fingerprint sensor is situated just underneath the dual cameras.

The Cool1 features USB Type-C port on the bottom edge, and there are two speaker grills lying on either side of the USB port. The grill adds to the beauty of the device. Meanwhile, you can check out some more photos of the cool1 smartphone LeEco and Coolpad have jointly cooked up from below.

Well even if I do not like the bezels around the screen, this could be my next phone taking into consideration the specs offered and the competitive price. Well done LeEco and CoolPad!

it is hurt to see 2 companies joined their experiences just to produce a phone with ugly black border.make me cry .i will not but it even if it’s cost 10$.

  • jimberkas

damn, I’m not one to usually concern myself about bezels and black borders…but that’s just seems egregious

  • willysson

Man, that chick is half-naked (what are they selling?). Nice looking phone by the way (No, I don’t give a damn about screen bezels).

  • Shashank

ewww those black border look like a cheap chinese phone! why did you do this

  • Do they really think white front phones with black bezels is pretty???!
Either make ’em full black or full white. Or better yet. Edge-to-edge.
Thing that always frustrates the most is… usually brands don’t even bother bringing out a black front version.
I wonder what’s up with that.

  • LeEco has always compromised on those bezels to keep the costs of manufacturing down in favor of better specs.
I appreciate it, but people are looking for aesthetics almost as much as performance.
