Chuwi Lapbook Coming Soon, Pre-Sale Starts on Gearbest.Com

We have seen numerous tablets, convertibles and 2in1 devices from Chinese device maker Chuwi. Now, it seems like Chuwi has decided to join the laptop bandwagon and their upcoming device is a full-fledged 15.6-inch laptop which they call “LapBook”. Chuwi Lapbook is going to be launched by the end of this month and online store Gearbest.com has started the pre-sale of this LapBook. The pre-sale starts from October 17 to November 3 and the price is $241.73 (1638 Yuan). The dispatching of LapBook will start from November 5.

Chuwi Lapbook features an ultra-thin design measuring 9-22mm thick. As for the specifications of Lapbook, it comes loaded with powerful hardware which will surely impress the buyers. It features a 15.6-inch 1080p display and by compressing the size of the bezels and keyboard, it weighs only 1.8KG. In terms of processing power, it is powered by an Intel X5 series quad-core chipset manufactured using 14nm process clocked at 1.8GHz. It is further aided by an Intel HD Gen8 GPU for better graphics.

Chuwi Lapbook is running on Windows 10 Redstone operating system. In terms of storage, it comes equipped with 4GB DDR3L RAM and 64GB of eMMC storage. There is a 2MP camera mounted on the front which captures clear images. Equipped with Dual USB ports, Chuwi Lapbook is fueled by a 10,000mAh battery which will keep it running for long.

    That is so lame. I wish the storage was bumped up alittle and RAM to 8GB and increase the price alittle.

    Since it is a “laptop” can it be upgraded? Adding more RAM? HDD? Actually z8300 wouldn’t support more RAM anyway…

      I don’t think so, to save cost normally all parts will be soldered together on the motherboard. So we cannot do anything for upgrade

    If only DDR3L sockets can be compatible with DDR3, then all is well. The L variant is quite pricey, so adding more RAM is hefty.
