Huawei took the smartphone industry by storm when it unveiled Huawei P9 earlier this year with Dual camera setup which made use of Leica lens tech. Design-wise Huawei P9 was just decent, featuring a basic all metal body. But seems like Huawei is going to change that with the successor Huawei P10. Some renders which are said to be of upcoming Huawei P10 smartphone has flooded the internet and they reveal a curved display on board this time.
It appears that Huawei is following in the footsteps of Samsung which has used curved displays on many of its smartphones including Samsung Galaxy Note 7. The images above reveal the curved display on the sides similar to what we have seen on Galaxy Note 7.
Leica powered dual camera setup will be making a comeback on Huawei P10 as well thereby retaining the relationship between Huawei and Leica optics. As of now, there is nothing has been revealed by Huawei about the configuration of this smartphone. The changes Huawei is going to make under the hood and the changes in optics is a very well-kept secret as of now but we expect more details to emerge very soon.
One change in design, if you consider it a change, is the shape of the fingerprint sensor on the back. On Huawei P9, there was a square shaped fingerprint reader while the images above revealed a circular shaped fingerprint sensor. In addition to that, the front home button is also missing in the images above.
As two of the biggest events in the smartphone industry, CES and MWC are going to happen early next year, we expect Huawei to unveil Huawei P10 at either of the events. Stay tuned for latest updates.
