When ASUS announced the Zenfone 4 in October last year, the phone shipped with Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box. ASUS did release an update for Android Oreo for the phone but it seems it isn’t done yet with the phone.
A Zenfone 4 running Android 9 Pie has been seen on Geekbench which means the phone may be getting a second major OS upgrade soon. The variant is the one powered by a Snapdragon 660 processor and not the Snapdragon 630 but we expect the update to be available to both variants.

The device was benchmarked on the 19th of December but there is no indication that the update will be coming anytime soon. Nevertheless, it should be comforting to owners of the phone that ASUS hasn’t abandoned it yet.
