Last month, Lu Weibing, the head of the Redmi confirmed via a Weibo post that the brand will release a Snapdragon 855 flagship. However, after that we didn’t get any information about this upcoming model. But it looks like a lot of Xiaomi fans were pestering him with questions about this flagship. Earlier today, he posted on Weibo requesting his followers not to ask him about Redmi 855 smartphone.

Mr. Weibing revealed that it was still too early to talk about the phone. His current focus was to ensure that the Redmi Note 7 Pro and Redmi 7 model sales exceed ten million units.

So, despite the earlier confirmation, the Snapdragon 855 powered Redmi device is unlikely to launch anytime soon. So, if you were looking for a cheap SD855 flagship anytime soon, the Xiaomi Mi 9 is still one of your best bets.

The new Xiaomi Redmi 7 series models are selling pretty well. So, it won’t be very long until the brand hits its target. The main highlight of the Redmi Note 7 Pro is its Sony IMX586 48MP sensor, which is the same one used in the Xiaomi Mi 9. This along with Snapdragon 675, 4000mAh battery and splash resistance makes the phone a pretty compelling option in the mid-range segment.
