For the first time in its history, OnePlus launched a real top-tier flagship with a top-tier display: the OnePlus 7 Pro. The device got praised by DisplayMate for its amazing color accuracy as well as its high 90 Hz refresh rate, but the fact that it comes with one of the most amazing displays does not mean that it can not be affected by issues. According to the latest reports by some users in the OnePlus forums, the display of the new flagship has ghost touch problems.

In case you have never heard of this issue, ghost touch is when the display of a smartphone recognizes taps that did not really happen. As the name suggests, it is like a ghost touching your display: you see the phone’s response to the tap, but nobody really touched the display. There is also a video which proves the existence of the issue on the OnePlus 7 Pro. According to the users affected, it mostly happens while using the keyboard and inside apps, while unexisting taps are recognized on the upper part of the screen.

Some users also reported that, in order to temporarily avoid the issue, they had to power off the screen with the power key and turn it on again. The ghost touch issues happen randomly, so it is not easy to pinpoint and prove the issue. If you own a unit of the OnePlus 7 Pro, you can check if your unit is affected by using the known CPU-Z app: you can download it for free from the Play Store. Just install the app, open it and wait for a minute, then you can let us know if your OnePlus 7 Pro is affected by the issue by leaving a comment in the box below.
