Xiaomi has taken the wraps off its second gaming laptop – the Mi Gaming Laptop 2019. The laptop packs impressive specs and has a starting price of ¥7499 (~$1080).

Mi Gaming Laptop 2019

Design

With respect to design, the Mi Gaming Laptop 2019 looks no different from last year’s model. You have the same number of ports and vents, a 15.6-inch display with the same bezel size, and the exact keyboard layout. However, we do feel like the 2019 version comes in a darker shade of black.

Specs

While the design hasn’t changed, a lot has changed under the hood. But before that, it is important to mention that the display has an interesting new feature. It is still 15.6-inches, has the same 81% screen-to-body ratio, and 72% color gamut. On top of all that, it adds a 144Hz refresh rate for much smoother gameplay.

For ports, there are 4 x USB 3.0 ports, 1 x Ethernet port, 1 x microphone port, 1 x headphone jack, 1 x HDMI output port, and a 3-in-1 card reader. Although the dimensions are still the same (364 x 265.2 x 20.9 mm), the 2019 version weighs a tiny bit less at 2.6kg against last year’s model which is 2.7kg.
