Realme is yet to confirm the launch date of the Realme XT smartphone that features a 64-megapixel quad camera setup. It appears that in a bid to debut the 64-megapixel quad camera phone before Redmi, the Chinese firm held a special event today to showcase the Realme XT and reveal its full specifications. It will be rivaling with the Redmi Note 8 Pro 64-megapixel quad camera setup that will be made official on Aug. 29.

The Realme XT features a display with dewdrop notch. The rear side of the phone bears a vertical quad camera setup at its top-left corner. The rear shell of the phone features an impressive 3D curved glass. The images shown at the event that the smartphone may come in two color variants such as Snow White and Blue (gradient color). In terms of design and specs, it looks like the Realme 5 Pro that was recently announced in India. The Realme 5 Pro may go official with a different in China. Since the Realme XT appears to be advanced edition of the Realme 5 Pro, the latter may debut as Realme XT Lite in the home market.

Realme XT Specifications

The Realme XT features a 6.4-inch AMOLED display that is embedded with an in-screen fingerprint reader.  The display produces full HD+ resolution. Like the Realme 5 Pro, it is fueled by the Snapdragon 712 chipset. The SOC is coupled with 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128 GB of UFS 2.1 storage.

The quad camera setup of the phone features a 64-megapixel Samsung GW1 primary lens, an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens, a 2-megapixel dedicated macro lens and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. Unlike the Realme X smartphone that features a pop-up selfie camera, the Realme XT has its 16-megapixel selfie camera lodged inside the front notch. The handset houses a 4,000mAh battery that carries support for VOOC 3.0 rapid charging. The Android 9 Pie OS that is skinned with ColorOS 6.0 runs on the device. For smoother performance, the handset is equipped with HyperBoost 2.0 support.

Realme XT will be releasing in the overseas market in September. The Chinese firm is expected to hold an unveil event in China on Sept. 4v to announce the Realme XT smartphone along with a rebadged Realme 5 Pro. There is no information available on the pricing of both phones for Chinese market.
