Xiaomi has scheduled an event on 24th September where the company will be launching a few products, including the Mi MIX Alpha and Mi 9 Pro 5G smartphones, MI TV Pro 8K as well as the latest MIUI 11.

The company had recently shared a teaser image of the upcoming Mi MIX series smartphone which speculated reports about it being a foldable smartphone, which isn’t actually the case. Instead, it seems that the phone has usually curved display around the edges, similar to the waterfall design.

Xiaomi Mi MIX Alpha 100 MP Camera Confirmed

Now, Xiaomi has shared a new teaser on Weibo which confirms one major feature of the smartphone that’s been rumored — 100-megapixel camera sensor. The company said that currently 64-megapixel is the highest camera sensor for the smartphones which will now be replaced with the upcoming Mi MIX Alpha having 100-megapixel sensor.

The smartphone will come equipped with the Samsung ISOCELL Bright HMX camera sensor that supports 108MP resolution. This will be second such partnership between Samsung and Xiaomi after both the companies recently came together for Xiaomi’s 64MP smartphone — Redmi Note 8 Pro that incorporates Samsung’s 64MP ISOCELL GW1 sensor.

The company has also shared a photo taken using the Mi MIX Alpha smartphone, which has a resolution of 12032 x 9024 pixels and the file is about 40MB in size. It also claims that even when the photo is zoomed eight times, the details are retained and the image remains clear.

Previously leaked information related to the Mi MIX Alpha reveals that the phone will come with a 2K display and 90Hz refresh rate. The device will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus octa-core processor with up to 12GB of RAM and 1TB of internal storage.

We are expecting the smartphone to come powered by MIUI 11 operating system based on the latest Android 10. To know more about it, including its variants, pricing and availability, we’ll have to wait for the official launch event on 24th September.
