Currently, the Kirin 990 chipset by Huawei is the only 5G flagship chipset in the market. The Exynos 990 that went official earlier today is Samsung’s 5G flagship SoC that will be possibly seen first on the Galaxy S11 series next year. The Kirin 990’s 5G major rival is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865. It is expected to go official by December. With few months of time in hand, Huawei is reportedly aiming to launch couple of 5G flagship phones before its competitors. The Honor V30 5G is expected to go official in the coming month. Fresh information reveals that the Huawei Nova 6 5G phone is also in works.

A new 5G phone from Huawei with model number WLZ-AN00 has been spotted on the database of China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (CMIIT). It appears that the smartphone could be codenamed as Waltz. The listing has no information on the specs of the phone, but it does confirm that the Nova 6 is a 5G smartphone. Probably, it will be also powered by the Kirin 990 5G chipset.
