Apart from launching the highly anticipated Realme X2 Pro flagship phone, Realme also unveiled the Realme 5s smartphone. The salient feature of the device that it offers 48-megapixel quad camera experience at a budget-friendly price. Also, it is packed with a behemoth battery. The Realme 5s has arrived in India with an enticing starting price of Rs. 9,999 (~$139).
Realme 5s Specifications and Features
Even though the Realme 5s is a mid-ranger, it sports new crystal design with nano holographic color that allows it to shine when viewed from different angles. The device is fitted with a 6.51-inch IPS LCD display with a reduced waterdrop notch. It offers HD+ resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels and an aspect ratio of 20:9. It is shielded by Gorilla Glass panel. The device promises a screen-to-body ratio of 89 percent.
The 11nm Snapdragon 665 AIE mobile platform fuels the phone with up to 4 GB of RAM. The highest storage edition of the phone comes with an internal memory of 128 GB. There is a dedicated microSD card slot on the device for additional storage.
The back panel of the Realme 5s is fitted with a quad camera system. It features the popular 48-megapixel Samsung GM1 lens as the main lens that is coupled with a 119-degree 8-megapixel wide-angle lens, a 2-megapixel portrait camera and a 2-megapixel macro lens with 4cm focal length. Placed on the frontside of the phone is a 13-megapixel lens with f/2.0 aperture. The front camera can impressive selfies in low-light conditions as it features 4-in-1 pixel binning technology. The photography features that are available on the device include AI scene recognition, Chroma Boost, Super nightscape, bokeh mode, AI HDR, AI beauty, EIS, 240fps slow-motion video recording and 4K video recording at 30fps.
The Realme 5s has a massive 5,000mAh battery that support 10W charging. The huge battery promises 29.9 days of standby time, 48.9 hours of camera usage, 30.8 hours of continuous music playback and 19.1 hours of YouTube usage. The ColorOS 6 that is customized by Realme is present on top of the Android 9 Pie OS. The phone comes with usual connectivity features such as dual SIM support, 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, microUSB 2.0 and 3.5mm audio jack. A fingerprint scanner is available on the backside of the Realme 5s.
The Realme 5s is essentially the same Realme 5 that is already available in India. The new phone comes with an enhanced primary lens for its quad camera system. Also, it features a new color variant.
Realme 5s Price and Availability
The pricing of the different variants of the Realme 5s is as follows:
- 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage – Rs. 9,999 (~$139)
- 4 GB RAM + 128 GB storage – Rs. 10,999 (~$153)
Color Variants: Crystal Blue, Crystal Purple and Crystal Red.
Realme 5s can be bought through Flipkart and Realme India’s online store. The existing Realme 5 will continue to sell alongside the all new Realme 5s phone. The first sale of the phone will be held on Nov. 29. Benefits worth Rs. 7,000 (~$87) from Jio will be available for buyers of the Realme 5s. The handset will be come to offline stores in the near future.
