Lu Weibing, Vice President of Xiaomi Group and General Manager for the Redmi brand has now revealed the way forward for the Redmi company in a new interview. He revealed that Xiaomi had proposed dual-engine strategy of smartphones and AIoT earlier.

He adds that the company has adopted “1+4+X” model where “4” refers to four categories of products — Smart TV, Notebooks, Routers, and Smart Speakers. It seems that “1” refers to the primary category for the company which remains smartphones.

Lu Weibing said that the company has also launched Redmi-branded smart TV and laptops in the market and thus, the products next in line includes routers and smart speakers. It has also been confirmed that the devices will get launched next month.

While details about the upcoming router and smart speaker have not been officially revealed yet, Lu Weibing has confirmed that these products will get launched along with Redmi K30 smartphone next month in China.

Although we are yet to know about the specs and features of the upcoming smart products from the brand, it’s fair to assume that all the devices from the company will adhere to the company’s aim of offering cost-effective products.

Lei Jun, Founder, Chairman and CEO of Xiaomi Group had previously said that he foresees that in the future, all the hosehold products/devices will be interconnected and can be operated through voice commands.

He added that most of the devices will be replaced with smart home products and AIoT platform will be established to make the process easy and reliable for the users. Here, AIoT is being referred to Artificial Intelligence and Internet of Things.
