Samsung may soon announce a new phone under its Xcover series. The Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) has certified two phones with model numbers SM-G715FN and SM-G715FN_DS, and the product name on the certificate reads Galaxy Xcover Pro.

The Xcover Pro was certified by the WiFi Alliance earlier a few weeks ago, and now that it has also received its Bluetooth certification, its launch should be close.

According to Mishaal Rahman of XDA-Developers, the phone will launch in Europe and will run Android 10 out of the box.

The XCover Pro will be powered by the Exynos 9611 chipset, the same processor inside the Galaxy M30s, and have 4GB of RAM according to a Geekbench benchmark result from earlier this month. It will have support for dual-band WiFi as well as Bluetooth 5.0.

Based on the configuration above, it means the Xcover Pro will arrive as a mid-range rugged smartphone. However, its price tag will definitely be higher than that of a similarly configured device. Also, since Samsung has not released a Galaxy S Active smartphone in a while, this should suffice.

The Galaxy Xcover Pro should have a waterproof and dustproof IP-rating and also a MIL-STD-810G rating.
