Another flagship killer went real: Realme officially announced the new Realme X50 Pro Player edition with a toned-down camera department and higher performance at a more affordable price. But are Realme’s latest efforts enough to guarantee the highest value for money to gamers and power users? In order to establish this, we decided to compare the new handset with other amazing flagship killers which hitten the shelves recently. We chose the Redmi K30 Pro (also known globally as the Poco F2 Pro) and the Realme X2 Pro since they are actually among the most affordable flagship killers out there and we saw several people wondering which is the best choice now that X50 Pro Player is official.

Design

Realme X2 Pro has the silly notch and, if you look at where the Realme logo is placed, you will probably understand that it is not the best design choice. Redmi K30 Pro looks very impressive with its notch-less and holeless display: it sports motorized pop-up cameras allowing it to get rid of holes in the display. But not everyone might like its rear side due to its big and round-shaped camera module. I like the rear side of the Realme X50 Pro Player a lot more and that is why it is my favorite one, but it has a dual punch-hole display. Does it meet your tastes or you prefer the Redmi K30 Pro?

Display

We exclude the Redmi K30 Pro from the display comparison, especially when it comes to gaming. It lacks the trendy feature of the moment: a high 90 Hz refresh rate. Realme X2 Pro and X50 Pro Player come with similar display specifications, including a 90 Hz refresh rate and the HDR10+ standard, as well as the Super AMOLED technology and a Full HD+ resolution. Unfortunately, we still do not have complete details about the display of the Realme X50 Pro Player Edition, so it is a draw with the X2 Pro.

Hardware/Software

Realme X2 Pro loses this comparison because it offers an older and less powerful chipset, as well as no 5G support. It is fueled by Snapdragon 855+ mobile platform which is still one of the best processors out there, but inferior to the Snapdragon 865 found on the Redmi K30 Pro and Realme X50 Pro Player. The most advanced version of the Realme X50 Pro Player offers potentially better performances due to its higher quantity of RAM (up to 12 GB) than Redmi K30 Pro, while Redmi K30 Pro has more internal storage (up to 256 GB). In each case, you get Android 10 out of the box and a custom UI.

Camera

Realme had to cut on the camera department of the Realme X50 Pro 5G in order to offer it at a very competitive price. Realme X2 Pro is the most interesting camera phone on the paper since it offers the best telephoto sensor and a good ultrawide lens. But Redmi K30 Pro is the only supporting 8K video recording and it offers better quality in some scenarios. While there are marginal differences between Realme X2 Pro and Redmi K30 Pro, you should definitely not go for the Realme X50 Pro Player if you are looking for the best camera phone.

Battery

With its bigger 4700 mAh battery and a standard refresh rate for the display, Redmi K30 Pro provides a longer battery life. Realme X50 Pro Player has the fastest charging technology: it goes from 0 to 100 percent in just 35 minutes with its 65W fast charging technology, and it can provide 1 hour of calls with just 3 minutes of charge. Realme X2 Pro is very close with its 50W fast charging and smaller battery, while Redmi K30 Pro is inferior with a slower charging (30W) and a bigger battery.

Price

Redmi K30 Pro’s base variant is priced 2,999 Yuan in China (roughly $420), just like the Realme X50 Pro Player. Realme X2 Pro begins at 2,699 Yuan ($378) but it is actually way cheaper thanks to street prices. Realme X2 Pro is more affordable, but it is not the winner of this comparison: it has inferior hardware, a smaller battery, and it lacks 5G. Realme X50 Pro Player has a faster charging tech, better display, and performances (at least in its most expensive variant), while Redmi K30 Pro offers a bigger battery and great cameras, but it lacks a high refresh rate. If you are a gamer, maybe Realme X50 Pro Player fits your needs a bit, but if you are more like a casual user, Redmi K30 Pro might look better. Which one would you pick?
