Samsung, which faces a big threat from Huawei for the world’s leading smartphone brand title, is now also facing heated competition in India’s Smart TV market. The company has lost the leading smartphone brand title in India to Xiaomi, but to get more market share for the Smart TVs, the South Korean giant has a plan.

It seems that Samsung is looking to flood the Indian smart TV market access different price points. As per the report, the company will be launching around 20 new smart TV models in India, starting from next week.

The new models will have a starting price of around ₹20,000 and will go up to ₹2,40,000. Thus, it plans to target a wide range of audiences with devices in the budget segment, mid-range segment, and high-end segment as well.

It is being reported that the new Smart TV models from Samsung will come with features like Personal Computer Mode, Home Cloud, Live Cast, and Music Player. The new TVs from Samsung are also expected to have OTT platform-related features as well.

The development comes as Chinese brands are trying to establish themself in the market, with Xiaomi already one of the leading Smart TV brands in India. Recently, the Realme Smart TV series was launched in India, marking the company’s foray into the segment.

OnePlus had launched the OnePlus TV Q1 series in the Indian market last year with a premium pricing. But recently, the company introduced two new series with affordable pricing, starting at just ₹12,999, which will certainly find buyers given the brand value.

Samsung recently launched the premium QLED 8K TVs in the Indian market with price starting at ₹4.9 lakh ($6,562) for the 65-inch model and goes as high as ₹15.79 lakh (~$21,137) for the 85-inch model. The new models are now up for pre-order and will go on sale from 10th July in India.
