Vivo is rumoured to launch the iQOO 5 5G later this month and perhaps, the main highlight of the device is the 120W fas charging support which it brings. The device is expected to arrive as the first smartphone that will bring support for over 100W fast charging speed and before it hits the market, the phone will have to go through several tests by regulators.iQOO 5

The iQOO 5 has just scaled one of such tests and that is the one by TUV Rheinland. The company has shared a promo video of the next-gen iQOO flagship undergoing several physical tests by TUV Rheinland.

The test shows us how the battery performs and the state of the phone when it is subjected to such extreme charging speed. The company says the phone will “normal temperatures” in a test environment of room temperature of about 25 degrees. Also, the adapter plug is capable of withstanding up to 10,000 plug-ins and plug-outs of a cable.

Furthermore, the battery is capable of taking up to 600 charge and discharge cycles and the battery life will remain “normal”. Vivo even claims that the battery will stay “as strong as ever”. The device also has some battery protection features while the new 6C cells onboard are said to be of the highest standard. TUV Rheinland, therefore, certified the voltage and current as safe.

The video also reveals the device will pack a triple camera setup at the rear while at the front will be a curved display which Vivo says will be an AMOLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate. The DCI-P3 color gamut will be 100% which is more than the industry standard.

The iQOO 5 5G is also expected to pack a Snapdragon 865 chipset paired with an LPDDR5 RAM, and UFS 3.1 storage.
