Apple is suing a small business by the name of Prepear, and is taking the company to court. The reason for the lawsuit is that its pear shape logo somehow matches its own iconic apple logo branding.

Prepear is a meal planning application that is targetted towards children, but according to Apple, the company is hurting its business despite not even being in the same line of operations. Allegedly, the brand logo similarity is the cause of the issue. Prepear is currently available on both Google Play and App Store and is owned by Super Healthy Kids. In no manner does it even compete with the Cupertino based giant and its logo isn’t even regarding the same fruit.

Prepear responded to the lawsuit with a statement on its official Instagram account stating that “Recently @apple yes, The trillion dollar Apple, has decided to oppose and go after our small business’ trademark saying our pear logo is too close to their apple logo and supposedly hurts their brand?” The meal planning company also pointed out that Apple bullies other smaller businesses in a similar manner, especially if the branding is regarding a fruit logo. The small business is planning on fighting the tech giant as well and already started a petition to garner support from the public, garnering over 25,000 signatures already.
