The OPPO Reno series is already in its fourth generation even though it is just a year old. By the next quarter, we expect OPPO will announce the Reno5 series as details have begun surfacing. Today, a leak revealed the names of the phones in the series and their respective processors, one of which is a chipset that is yet to launch but that we have heard of before.

The source of the leaker is Really Asen Jun, and according to him, there will be three Reno5 phones. They are the Reno5, Reno5 Pro, and Reno5 Pro+. Knowing OPPO, these phones may launch under a different name in other markets. The leaker goes on to reveal the chipsets that are expected to power the three phones.

The Reno5 will be powered by the yet-to-be-announced Snapdragon 775G. This chipset was expected to be announced in June but it still has not been announced. The Snapdragon 775G should bring new features and a higher processing power than the Snapdragon 765G which has turned out to be the go-to chipset for several manufacturers launching mid-range 5G phones.

The Reno5 Pro and Reno5 Pro+ will both feature the Snapdragon 860 Mobile Platform, another processor that is yet-to-be-announced. News of the Snapdragon 860 first surfaced earlier this month, and even then, it was linked to OPPO.

While we know little about these processors, we are pretty sure they will have 5G modems. While OPPO did release 4G variants of the Reno4, we do not think it will do the same for the Reno5 series.
