Samsung will announce new wireless earbuds alongside the Galaxy S21 series next month. The pair of TWS earbuds will launch as the Galaxy Buds Pro, and early leaks have revealed what it will look like. Now, another leak has stated some key features Samsung’s new earphones will have, one of which Apple already offers on the AirPods.

According to Ishan Agarwal (@ishanagarwal24), the Galaxy Buds Pro will have support for “multiple levels of Active Noise Cancellation and Ambient Sound”. What this means is that users will be able to adjust the noise cancellation and ambient sound feature as they wish.

This is similar to a feature the Jabra Elite 85t offers which allows the user to switch between up to 11 different noise cancellation levels rather than having just one – noise cancellation on or off. You will also be able to adjust ambient sound level on the Galaxy Buds, hopefully in a similar way to how the Huawei FreeBuds Studio allows users to switch between two types of its Hear-through Mode.

The leaker doesn’t say if these features will be accessible via the app or can be adjusted using the controls on the earbuds. However, our guess is that you will have to launch the companion Galaxy Wearable app to access these features.

Another feature mentioned is support for automatic switching on of ambient sound mode when the earbuds detect voice. What we believe this means is that the earbuds will turn on Ambient Sound once it detects that the user is speaking (read having a conversation) so the user doesn’t have to pause playback to hear what the other person is saying.

Ishan also mentions that the Galaxy Buds Pro will have a 3D Spatial Audio feature with support for head tracking. A similar feature was announced by Apple for the AirPods Pro a few months ago. The new AirPods Max also has it. The feature provides a theater-like experience when you are watching a video or movie, so it appears as if the sound is coming from all around you rather than from just one direction.

The Spatial Audio feature will only work with content that supports it, so if you are watching a video or movie that doesn’t have it, you won’t be able to experience it even if you have the feature turned on.

The Galaxy Buds Pro will come in three colors – Phantom Silver, Phantom Black, and Violet. Its case will pack a much bigger battery than the last-gen model, so users should get even more battery life with the new earbuds.
