A week ago, Samsung’s President of Mobile division, Ru Toh, indirectly said that features of the Galaxy Note series will trickle down to other devices. Today, an FCC listing confirms that the upcoming Galaxy S21 Ultra(Tentative) will come with support for S-Pen.

Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra Phantom Black Render Leak

A Samsung device with model number SM-G998B appears(via Android Authority) on America’s FCC certification website. Now, this belongs to one of the upcoming Galaxy S21 series as per earlier reports. Precisely, several instances like NFC certification and China’s 3C show a variant similar to this with SM-G998U model number. Anyhow, this is likely the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G.

Moving on, the Wireless Charging Test report of SM-G998B reveals that it will support a stylus device(S-PEN). Previously, multiple rumors said that the Galaxy S21 Ultra will get the S-Pen functionality but won’t have the shaft to hold it. Since the report also indicates “support” of a stylus, we feel Samsung might not add it in the box. And sell it along with a Case to hold it as an accessory.

That said, the test report also says that users can use the S-PEN in two different modes- Hover and Click. For the unaware, Hover is when you hold the stylus above the screen without touching and perform certain functions. It will be interesting to see how Samsung will position the S21 Ultra if it continues the Note-series as per reports.

Either way, Galaxy S21 Ultra is shaping out to be an ultra-premium flagship of 2021. A leak on the entire specifications says it will sport a Metal-Glass sandwich design, Gorilla Glass Victus for protection. It will feature a 6.8-inch Infinity-O-Edge Dynamic AMOLED 120Hz LTPO display, Exynos 2100(IN, Korea, EU)/Snapdragon 888 (US, China) chipset, up to 12GB RAM, 512GB storage.

Coming back, the NFC listing also reveals that Samsung’s top-of-the-line flagship will include Ultra-Wide Band(UWB), NFC, Wireless charging, Reverse Wireless charging, and Wi-Fi 6E support. The device is likely to debut in mid-January of 2021 and expected to start at EUR 1,349 in Europe.
