An electric car from Xpeng caught fire in China, earlier this week. It was the G3 model, which was parked at a charging station in the Tianhe District, Guangzhou, where it spontaneously combusted into flames.

According to a Zaobao report, the Xpeng G3 model caught fire at a charging station on 14th April 2021. The reports state that the fire was intense with a lot of white smoke being emitted. This incident also arrives on the same day the Chinese electric vehicle maker released its third new model, the Xiaopeng P5. Furthermore, the company even confirmed that the report was true and that it will be forming a team to investigate the accident and find out the cause of the fire.

Notably, the owner of the vehicle is safe and there was no harm to any other individual either. Looking at the statistics, the recent events marks the seventh accident of the company’s car since 2019. Out of this figure, two of them are related to fires as well. Unfortunately, finer details regarding the matter and the Xpeng’s investigation is still unknown at the moment.
