Samsung introduced One UI 2.5 with the launch of Galaxy Note20 and Galaxy Note20 Ultra. The update was only confirmed for the company’s flagship smartphone series like Galaxy S, Galaxy Note, and Galaxy Z. But surprisingly, the South Korean tech giant began to roll it for Galaxy A71 a few days now. Now, the update is also live for Galaxy A51.

Galaxy A51 and Galaxy A71 are Samsung’s best-selling smartphones of 2020. Hence, the company rolled out some Galaxy S20 features to these two devices worldwide and a new feature called AltZLife in India.

Now, the duo is also receiving the latest stable version of its Android skin – One UI 2.5. However, unlike the flagship models, the new update for Galaxy A51 as well as Galaxy A71 only comes with certain features.

According to SamMobile, the Android 10-based One UI 2.5 update for Galaxy A51 comes with firmware version A515FXXU4CTJ1. The new OTA update for the handset also bumps up the security patch level to October 2020.

That said, although the canagelog for the update is unavailable as of now, we expect the new software build to bring a similar set of features like the build that is being rolled out to Galaxy A71.

That means when you finish updating your Galaxy A51, your device may have features like Network Quality Information Display, Request Password, and SOS in Messages app to name a few.

Having said that, One UI 2.5 for Galaxy A51 is merely a minor update. The next major update for this phone will arrive in the form of Android 11-based One UI 3.0. That’s not all, since this smartphone is eligible for three generations of Android updates, it will be also receiving Android 12 (One UI 4.0) and Android 13 (One UI 4.0) in the future.
