MTK focus on middle-class mobile’s processor, and it is successful on China Market beyond Qualcomm. The MTK MT6589 and MT6589T quad-core processor is built-in most China phones. Today, there is a rumor about the new 4G LTE chipset: MTK MT6290, which will launch in this next year.

On the specification, MTK MT6290 uses the same 28nm Cortex-A7 architecture, integrating four physical cores, should has similar performance with MTK MT6589, in addition to TD-LTE network, it will also support the FDD-LTE, TD-SCDMA, WCDMA and GSM / EDGE network, but does not support CDMA.
