Gionee will replace the MT6592 with the Snapdragon 400 (MSM8928 quad-core/A7 1.6G) as the processor for the ELIFE S5.5L. One of the main reasons could be because Gionee will have to wait until July for MediaTek to ship them the needed processors.

Other adjustments were made for this new 4G edition. The camera does not stick out anymore, but as a result, the S5.5L’s thickness increased from 5.55mm to 5.75mm! In addition, its battery power has increased to 2450mAh!

It also supports TD-LTE/WCDMA/TD-SCDMA and GSM internet but can still support 3G dual-mode. Other specs have not changed. The S5.5L still sports a 5-inch 1080p Samsung SA screen, 2GB RAM, 16GB ROM, a 5mp 95 degree wide angle front-facing camera, and 13mp Sony rear camera. It also comes with the Amigo 2.0.

Reliable sources say that the ELIFE S5.5L will hit stores in July and is not expected to be more expensive than the original octa-core version.
