It is being reported that there is a problem with the Whatsapp application on Xiaomi phones, where the contacts are not listed where they should be. This is a security issue and is fixed easily in four steps.

1. Find the Security app on your handset and launch it.
2. Tap ‘Permission’ then ‘Manage App Permission’ and then ‘Contacts’
3. Find Whatsapp in the list and change the permission setting to ‘Allow’

4. Refresh the contact list in your Whatsapp.
