Time and again, Xiaomi has proved that you can get quality gadgets even at a very affordable price tag. Today, the company unveiled the brand new Xiaomi TV2 and this time, it’s a large 40-inch TV which retails for just 1999 Yuan. This is an amazing price for a TV of this size, especially with the features that it comes with.

The Xiaomi TV2 features a 40-inch Sharp Super LCD display and continues with the same thin and narrow frame design as its earlier generations. This makes the images and the videos displayed on the TV extremely beautiful. The display sports a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and a static contrast ratio of 5000:1 with dynamic response time of 6ms. The screen boasts of viewing angles of up to 176 degrees.

In addition to the large 40-inch display, the Xiaomi TV2 comes with all the goodies that its previous generation had. So, the TV has a Cortex – A9 powered quad-core processor clocked at 1.45GHz along with Mali-450 MP4 GPU and 1.5GB RAM. There’s 8GB of inbuilt storage space, which unfortunately is not further expandable via MicroSD. The Xiaomi TV2 supports 2.4GHz and 5GHz Dual Band 802.11 a / b / g / n Wi-Fi, H.265 hardware decoding, Dolby + DTS Audio, USB 3.0 and even Bluetooth 4.0.

The TV runs on a modified version of MIUI for TV. Xiaomi claims the UI is streamlined to make it user friendly and people of all ages can easily operate the device.

Given the size of the display as well as the features that you get on the Xiaomi TV2, the 1999 price tag is definitely a steal. The TV will go on sale starting March 31. The company has not announced any plans for international release, but we hope this year, Xiaomi brings this amazing TV to newer markets as well.
