Two companies. Two flagship smartphones. The LeTV One Pro and the Huawei P8. LeTV and Huawei unveiled their latest flagship devices at their respective press conferences one after the other; LeTV held a launch event in China on the Tueday while Huawei had theirs in London the day after. And today, we compare both of these flagships part by part, from their processors, to their displays, to their cameras, and find out how each stacks up against each other.
The Huawei P8 features a 5.2-inch full HD (1920 x 1080) screen giving it a pixel density of 424ppi. On the other hand, the LeTV One Pro is equipped with a larger and sharper 5.5-inch 2K (2048 × 1536) display giving it a higher pixel density of 564ppi.
The Huawei P8’s 13-megapixel RBGW camera with a DSLR-level ISP is completely new and innovative which gives it the advantage in this category while the LeTV One Pro’s 13-megapixel Sony IMX214 camera is fairly old. On the front side, the LeTV One Pro comes with a 4-Ultrapixel camera while the Huawei P8 comes with a standard 8-megapixel camera.
Processor & RAM
In the processor department, the LeTV One Pro features the popular Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 octa-core SoC while the Huawei P8 is powered by a HiSilicon Kirin 930 octa-core SoC. Basing on the specifications of each processor, the LeTV One Pro wins this round due to the Snapdragon 810’s newer and faster-clocked Cortex CPUs. It comes with four A53 CPUs clocked at 1.6GHz and four A57 CPUs at 2.0GHz while the Kirin 930 comes with eight A53 CPUs with four clocked at 2.0GHz and the other four at 1.2GHz.
In the RAM department, the LeTV One Pro wins again with its 4GB of RAM versus the 3GB of RAM on the Huawei P8. The LeTV One Pro is able to use all 4GB of RAM due to its 64-bit Snapdragon 810 processor.
The Huawei P8 comes with either 16GB or 64GB of storage with the option of adding more via a microSD card while the LeTV One Pro is stuck with either 32GB or 64GB of storage with no option for expandability which gives the win to Huawei in this department.
In this category, the LeTV One Pro beats the Huawei P8 as the former comes with a 3,000mAh battery while the latter sports a smaller 2,680mAh battery.
Lastly, both the Huawei P8 and the LeTV One Pro are being positioned as high-end phones with premium specifications which usually leads to a premium price tag as well. At the highest configuration, the Huawei P8 with 64GB of storage is priced at €599 (4,000 Yuan) while the LeTV One Pro comes cheaper at only around €404 (2,699 Yuan) beating out its rival in this contest by almost €200 (1,300 Yuan).
