It looks like Xiaomi is coming out with a new version of the Mi4, called the Mi4i, which will be the international or global version of the smartphone. The information and images on the new device were leaked by Upleaks and other sources. The new device is expected to be officially unveiled at a Xioami conference in New Delhi on April 23.
The Xiaomi Mi4i was first hinted at when benchmarks of a Xiaomi device code-named Ferrari started showing up on benchmark tests. Upleaks then leaked that the Ferrari was indeed the Mi4i. The device is said to feature a sharper screen and larger battery than the original Mi4 and will support more 4G network bands for use in more countries.
The leaks also mention that the Mi4i may come with a 5-inch full HD 1080p screen, an all-plastic body, an octa-core processor (most probably the 64-bit 1.6GHz Snapdragon 615 coupled with an Adreno 405 GPU), 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, and will run Android 5.0.2 with MIUI 6 out of the box. Additionally, it may also come with a 13-megapixel rear camera, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, and support dual-SIM standby.
The Xiaomi Mi4i is expected to launch at the aforementioned event on April 23 with a price tag of around 1,300 Yuan.
