Beidou is a relatively popular brand in China and have released a number of phones under their Little Pepper brand. Today, pictures and details of one the company’s upcoming Little Pepper smartphones have been released showing a device that the company is planning to sell for only 399 Yuan.
While the device in the released pictures isn’t a final retail unit but only an engineering unit, it seems to be close to the device’s final design and configuration. The new device features a fairly simple face with the usual capacitive touch home, menu, and back buttons near the bottom and the ear-piece and front-facing camera near the top. The top of the device contains the device’s headphone jack and USB charging port while the right-hand side features the device’s volume and power keys. The rear features a wrap-around case that covers both the back and the sides of the phone, similar to the iPhone 5C. The rear of the phone also features the device’s 8-megapixel rear camera, LED flash, and a speaker vent.
The device features a 5-inch 720p resolution screen, a 64-bit quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, and support for dual SIM standby as well as dual 4G LTE. While the specifications of the device aren’t really top-of-the-line, its price tag of 399 Yuan definitely makes up for it in spades. At the moment, there isn’t any information on the device’s release date or official launch.
