Last week, Xiaomi released its third-party adapter tool, Patchrom, for its MIUI Android-based operating system which allows third-party developers and smartphone manufacturers to port the latest version of the operating system, MIUI 6, to non-Xiaomi devices.

Today, the company announced through the MIUI Weibo page that the Samsung Galaxy S5 is the first third-party smartphone to have successfully run MIUI 6 and that the ported operating system will be available for download through its forums tomorrow for those who wish to use MIUI 6 on their Galaxy S5.

The company has said that their Patchrom tool will make porting the operating system to other devices very easy and efficient and users need only wait for third-party developers or even the manufacturers to develop a port of MIUI 6 for their specific smartphones.
